Based in Cambridge UK the business offers a totally eco-friendly approach to Garden landscape design for small, medium and large spaces including domestic and commercial properties. Ranging from wildflower planting schemes through traditional to contemporary designs all projects are bespoke and reflect the true nature of the surroundings and incorporate visually stunning and innovative planting and hardscaping features.

Cambridge Garden Design is owned by Daniel Lee BSc (Horticulture) a fully qualified BALI (British Association of Landscape Industries) registered specialist. Daniel has 17 years practical experience as a gardener and plantsman including training at two Cambridge colleges, Peterhouse and Fitzwilliam, before formally established himself as a Garden designer. He has traveled to many countries and continents to study their indigenous plants and to learn which are most suitable as exciting new additions to gardens in the UK in times of gradual changes in the local climatic environment.

Daniel has a powerful design and planting philosophy. Primarily the designs are formulated to create a strong emotive responsive. All designs must work practically and utilize only quality plants and materials.The hard landscaping is also based on the use of quality materials, recycled where appropriate, and is designed to last for decades.
Although Daniel often incorporates many of his personal favourite signature plants, his planting will be original and be site specific, not just a generic horticultural carpet laid out on each job.
The planting will be artistic and have strong structural elements to it but without any pretentious back story or disingenuous context given to it. How the client feels about their garden can only come from them and is not something that should be imposed by the designer.
As a garden designer Daniel has a particular interest in generating planting schemes for gardens of all sizes and especially creative wildflower planting schemes for Cottage garden designs. He also has extensive experience in design plans for clients with more contemporary and modern planting aspirations.
Daniel insists that " good garden designers realize that the basis of any successful garden is healthy soil, use of natural features and aspect. The plants chosen for a client's garden must be chosen to match the soil conditions. At Cambridge Garden Design we don't impose a design onto the garden and just hope it works! The soil type essentially drives the design approach and is fundamental to the success of any design project".
