Why is First Capitol your best California option when it comes to Heavy Equipment Auctions?

Why is First Capitol your best California option when it comes to Heavy Equipment Auctions?

First Capitol Auction, Inc. originated in a small warehouse in Benicia, California, in May, 1985. We selected our company’s name to acknowledge the community’s historic role in housing California’s first capitol building.

Eric Smith, the founder of First Capitol, was soon joined by partner Brian McKissack. From the beginning, Smith and McKissack based their business model upon auctioning construction equipment, vehicle and other asset seizures, for the benefit of public entities, as well as rental yards and lending institutions. Through hard work, focus, and creativity the partners soon outgrew their Benicia facility and moved to their current 10-acre site in Vallejo, California.

First Capitol Auction, Inc. is one of the fastest growing companies in Northern California. We attribute much of our success to the relationships we have built and maintained with government agencies, contractors, and lenders. Our innovative marketing and advertising campaigns are designed to enhance our clients in the process of showcasing our capabilities. We strive to understand buyers, sellers, and prevailing market conditions thoroughly in order to maximize the sales value of our clients’ goods.

The majority of our auctions are conducted at our Vallejo facility. This site is strategically located so as to serve both the San Francisco Bay Area and the greater Sacramento metropolitan area. Our Vallejo location provides direct freeway access via Interstate 80 and ten acres of available space for public parking; and our facility can also be reached by Amtrak and ferry. Our site provides ample opportunity for storage, display, loading and unloading, as well as a 10,000 square foot building for inside display and security.

First Capitol Auction, Inc. is licensed by the State of California and is fully insured and bonded.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT

Promoting and Protecting the Strength of Our Community

First Capitol Action, Inc’s primary goal is to maintain the public’s trust in the auction process by holding no minimum, no reserve, public auctions. One of the ways to cultivate this trust is to provide buyers and sellers with a high level of professionalism, integrity and customer satisfaction. We realize, however, that words are not enough. In order to keep the trust, we strive to look like the community we serve and conduct our business in a manner aimed at protecting our community. Through our ongoing business alliances with women-owned and diverse business enterprises our clients can witness our ongoing commitment to diversity. Working together with our business partners, we can ensure that diversity is the underpinning of our procurement and hiring process.

First Capitol knows that the protection of our natural resources is a shared value across communities. By taking a look at our business practices and introducing methods to reduce paper-based waste and promote clean technologies, we commit ourselves to environmental stewardship in both principal and practice. We are in compliance with all State of California environmental requirements and all current California Air Resource Board (CARB) requirements.
