Dental assistant job description

The job description of a dental assistant can be considered as varied and wide-ranging in dental clinic. He/she does several tasks that require both technical as well as interpersonal skills. You have to perform every duty required to assist your dentist which might include:

    Answering the phone calls
    Interaction with the patients
    Help the dentist in several treatment procedures
    Taking & developing the X-Rays
    Asking medical history of patients and checking their pulse and BP
    Working as infection control bureaucrat, developing the protocol, arranging and disinfecting the equipment.
    Make the patients feel easy before, within and post the oral treatment procedure
    Instructing patients with proper dental care post the surgery or other oral procedures like filling
    Guiding patients on proper strategies to maintain dental hygiene like brushing, flossing & nutritional counseling
